Video Entry rules

  • All entries will be asked to provide confirmation of their level by their instructor or in the case of self taught a training partner. In the case of a query regarding the level of an entry we will approach the referee  to provide evidence of level
  • Videos must be submitted using an unlisted YouTube upload before  April 30th 2020.
  • You must video your routine in landscape.
  • There is a 20 second buffer on each time length (e.g. beginner is 2 mins, so can be from minimum 1:40 to maximum 2:20)
  • There are no compulsory moves in any category.
  • All moves are categorised as laid out in Spin City Pole / Hoop Bible. If you are unsure if you are using moves that are correct for your category please use this for reference. Anyone using moves that are deemed unsuitable for the level entered will have points deducted from the final score
  • The title of your video must include your name and category.
  • Minimum 30 secs floor work away from equipment for all categories. This does not have to be continuous.
  • Any footwear and props are permitted.
  • Static moves should be held for 3-4 seconds.
  • Hoop competitors must check category rules for using the strop.

 

Pole video entry rules

Beginner:

  • You must have no more than 1 year pole experience by 1st Jan 2020
  • Song length 2 minutes.
  • No inverts, laybacks or moves where your hips are higher then your head.
  • Hands only spins are permitted.
  • Climbs and seats are permitted.
  • If you have any questions about moves, please email us to clarify.  
  • Intermediate:
  • Song length 2 minutes 30 seconds,
  • No hands only moves (straight edge, ayesha etc), handsprings or shoulder mounts. Hands only spins are permitted.
  • E.g. gemini is permitted, cocoon is not. Eros is permitted, no handed brass monkey is not.
  • Shoulder dismounts are permitted.

Advanced:

  • Song length 3 minutes.
  • No restrictions on moves.

Instructor & Professional

  • Song length 3 minutes.
  • No restrictions on moves.

Classique:

  • Song length 3 minutes.
  • Heels must be worn for at least part of the performance
  • You must remove at least one item of costume
  • No nudity. No vulgar moves - no touching of private parts!
  • You will not be judged on difficulty of tricks, but on variety of tricks.  

Men's:

  • Song length 3 Minutes.
  • No restrictions on moves or inverts. 
  • You will not be judged on difficulty of tricks, but on variety of tricks.  

Groups:

  • 2-4 people
  • Song Length 3 Minutes.
  • No restrictions on moves.
  • You will not be judged on difficulty of tricks, but on variety of tricks.  

Over 40's:

  • Song length 3 Minutes.
  • No restrictions on moves or inverts.
  • You will not be judged on difficulty of tricks, but on variety of tricks.

Hoop video rules

Beginner:

  • You must have no more than 1 year hoop experience by 1st Jan 2019
  • Song length 2 minutes.
  • No use of top bar - no knees on top (hands on top bar are fine).
  • NO DROPS/ROLLS/SLIDES.  

Intermediate:

  • Song length 2 minutes 30 seconds.
  • SLIDES/ROLLS are allowed (e.g. mini mill wheel/hocks slide). Rolls keep contact with the hoop at all times - there is no drop and catch.
  • DROPS are not allowed (e.g. tombe, swing through to front balance). Drops leave contact with the hoop. If you have any questions about restricted moves, please email us to clarify.
  • May use the top bar. 

Advanced:

  • Song length 3 minutes.
  • No move restrictions.

Instructor/Professional:

  • Anyone who has been paid to perform or teach aerial - even if it's only once!
  • Song length 3 minutes.
  • No move restrictions.

General points

  • Single point swivel, 95cm and wrapped in black tape.
  • You will not need to bring your own hoop or strop.
  • DO NOT TOUCH THE FRAME with your moves. 
  • Crash mats will be under hoop (see main rules / terms & conditions for more information)
  • No moves above the hoop on the strop due to height restrictions.
  • Points will be deducted for costume malfunctions.
  • Points will be deducted for vulgar moves.
  • Points will be deducted for restricted moves (including touching the strop or frame).
